Make a response paper to the film “Outbreak”. Your paper should address the following questions:

1. What important issue(s) was/were addressed by the film?

2. Why are the issues addressed by the films interesting or important? Has the film in any way convinced you to take a stand on these issues?

Write your paper on NOT more than one whole sheet of pad paper; please write legibly. Submission is at 12 NOON, Thursday, September 25. Please be reminded that LATE papers will receive a grade of zero. This assignment is part of 20% of your Second Quarter Biology 1 grade.

(Again, some useful info & links)

What is a response paper?

A response paper is your chance to communicate in writing your personal viewpoint and personal learning as they relate specifically to the films you watched and the ideas and values contained therein.

A response paper is not intended to be a comprehension test, a film review, (i.e. “I really enjoyed the…) or a rehashing of the content or story (i.e. this happened, and then that happened”). Your reader is familiar with the film, and is interested in discerning how deeply you have thought about the concepts, values, belief systems and attitudes that exist at the heart of the work.

Writing standards for response papers include observing proper spelling and grammar, and including in-text citations and a bibliography.
